There is only one jailbreak. It is produced by the dev team (and it's free software) Google "dev team blog"

Not true

Download Winterboard (an app) and themes from Cydia.

You can restore.

Google iClarified, they'll give you guides.

i have unzipped the file, but nothing has that name (.ipsw)

You just delete the .zip off the end of the file name I think.

Then you run redsn0w and follow the directions. Enjoy!

Wait.... NM. You have a 3Gs... You have to wait until they release the Jailbreak for 3.1

If you want more explanation why, then please read the dev team's latest blog post. http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

Oh... Well then redsn0w may work. I have a 3G so I can't say for sure. I think it just injects the code without needing it to be signed again.

So yea. Just delete the .zip from the name and run redsn0w. Don't forget to let us know how it went!

ahhh thx nice....

ame i able to have one wallpaper for startup and one for backgound?

You can't, as far as I know, change the boot logo on 3.0. You can, however, change the lockscreen wallpaper (not the charging one) in a theme by putting a file named "LockBackground.png" in your theme folder. Its best to combine themes elements into one rather than having many turned on at the same time.

oki thx....so if i whant to dowload any good theme then?

It depends on what you like the look of. Themes on Cydia have screenshots or you can brows the Post Spring/Winterboard Screenshots thread until you find one you fancy. Many themes have the icon overlay files that basically make stock AppStore icons look similar to the theme's icons. Also check on Deviant Art or MacThemes.

The themes you download them from Cydia, but they aren't usually up to date. So if you found one you like you can search for it online and you'll usually find it on forums like MacThemes. I would then download them from your phone to your computer and remove the theme from Cydia as I slows down the initial launch.

Then you manually add the new icons you have found for the theme and rename the ones you want to use for different icons. By rename I mean... I use MxTube instead of YouTube so I hide use SBSettings to hide the YouTube application. There may be a theme where I like the YouTube icon more that the MxTube icon, or there may only be a YouTube icon. I can change it from YouTube.png to MxTube.png and now I have the MxTube icon I prefer. If you make any theme changes you have to respring, in SBSettings.

This also has the benefit that if you have to re-jailbreak you can just upload the contents of your Themes folder back to your phone and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Search around for more detailed instructions on how to do any of this, but you can use apps like PhoneView/Mac or iPhoneBrowser/PC to make the process way easier. You don't have to know Terminal to do any of this.

As much as I love the Dev-Team, theirs is not the only jailbreak. Geohot actually beat them to the jailbreak with purplera1n, which still works to jailbreak 3.0.

Chronic-Dev is working on GreenPois0n as well.

Dev-Team just is the most reliable. :D The others tend to make quick hacks that do get the job done but don't provide the continued support that Dev-Team does. I think this is why Dev-Team has a lot more fans. :D

Geohot says it best himself, I think: "I code to make things simple, hacky, and fast. Dev codes to make things proper, slow, and complicated; redsn0w works OOTB." It might take Dev longer to come out with a release, but you can be sure that theirs will work and won't be buggy.
