I'm a little worried that my iPad might grow legs one of these days. Any recommendation for an app that would help me find it?

Thanks!

Isn't MobileMe pricey?

you can find legit mobileMe subscriptions for less than 50 bucks on eBay.. I just got one for 45 dollars.

you cant find an app that can track your iphone/ipad and do the things mobileMe does. remote passcode lock, remote wipe, send a message to the iphone/iPad for whoever finds it/stole it to see, tracking it without needing user action. granted, idk if all these features are available for the ipad, i just have an iphone.. for now :p

however, i do see Undercover getting better when the iPad gets iOS 4. with the ability to run a process in the background, it might be able to come close to mobileMe's tracking abilities.

if you jailbreak, you can use Navimote (it's of Cydia). it is free and works amazingly well on the iphone (since it has GPS) and surprisingly well on the ipad (using skyhook)

Thanks. I wonder if it will turn location services on if they aren't already on....

I looked at that one but one of the reviews said a person would have to actually use the pad before it could be located because it can't run with lock screen on. So, if I password the pad and they can't open, it I assume I'll never find it.

I believe they'll be changing this behavior when OS 4 comes out; but you might check to see if it's actually true. Orbicule support is really quick about responding in a helpful way.

Just read that Undercover will not work if you lock your pad. That sucks.
