Depends what you personally like doesn't it. I don't agree with a lot from that fps list if I'm honest.. Heck I still play Doom!! (using Doomsday engine of course). And Quake using the DarkPlaces engine... I must admit to having my interests in Half Life 2 recently regenerated due to the 'Update' release. Plus I've been playing a lot of Dead Effect lately...

Impossible to answer!?? ;)

i agree with fps in terms of TF2 and CS:GO
i would agree with mmorpg for EVE, WoW, next gw2/eso
but dota2/league are not mmorpgs, they aren't mmo's and they aren't rpgs...

as for strategy... i would say starcraft 2 and heroes of the storm, then civ 5

ps: this list works for pc as well...

Civ: Beyond Earth, Starcraft 2 as for strategy games.

Diablo 3 for RPG(I know its not, but its the best game with RPG mechanics). The Witcher 2, and 1, and Possibly 3: the Wild Hunt.

First person shooter? So far none, from my perspective, however, there are coming to mac at least two fantastic FPS: Overwatch from Blizzard, and Unreal Tournament 2015 from Epic Games.

That's somewhat reassuring, it means that at least the most noteworthy games (for MMORPGs and Strategy) are well and alive on the Mac too.

I'd strongly suggest Metro:Last Light. It is a great port to the mac.

I just purchased my first Mac about a month ago, and was really hoping to play Plants VS Zombies :(

I can't say I'd endorse any game on a mac that has to use Steam from those lists but Bioshock 1, Deus Ex: HR, Batman Arkham City, Doom 3, Civ V (speaking of which - still no complete edition Aspyr?), and Borderlands 2 all have great MAS versions that are highly polished and deserve a home on any new mac.

You are joking, right?

Perhaps the game is good, but the port to OS X is crap. To see some of the challenges have a look at this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/43160/discussions/0/37470847892632849/?insideModal=1

I've played through from the beginning to the end, and on a difficulty level that was above the average (meaning that deaths were often, so I had to replay many parts plenty of times to get pass them) without a single issue. I was actually impressed of how fluid the whole experience was on OS X. Also, I didn't bother with the steam version, I've played the MAS one.

Maybe there are issues with a specific GPU model or some people tried it on a GPU that is below the minimum requirements or integrated graphics etc.

CoD 4 is one of the best face-paced multiplayer games I've played with an excellent single player campaign to boot - and runs like silk on the Mac.

I'm really considering getting Black Ops on the Mac, even though it's only Mac to Mac MP, the team at Aspyr are so great about talking with you about the why's etc. that went into the port, that right there would make me feel like they deserve the money. They even tipped me off about a possible Steam sale of this game within a week or two.
