I would like to sell a late 2012 Mac Mini to a company that specializes in buying used computers. I don't want to sell on eBay or Craigslist. From your knowledge, which company provides the most trustworthy and seamless selling experience?

Do most used computer buying companies require the computer they are buying to have original factory RAM or is aftermarket RAM acceptable? My computer came with factory RAM (4GB I think) and I then I upgraded it to 16GB with aftermarket RAM. I don't want aftermarket RAM to disqualify a purchase.

Thank you for your input.

Honestly, you'll get a better price if you sell it yourself. Those online places will only give pennies on the dollar and typically quote high to get you to send it to them, then downgrade their offer to try and force you to accept less than you should for it.

Warning: These places are not responsible for lost shipments or damage during shipment. You are solely responsible for anything bad that happens in transit.

If you are willing to basically give away the device for free, seek out one of these online places.

Exactly, regarding selling it yourself. Back in late January, when I was getting ready to purchase my late 2018 Mac Mini, I posted my late 2012 Mac Mini for sale on craig's list. I did specify "Local Byers only, Cash only". While that could potentially limit things, for some other items i had posted for sale, I had got some crazy out of the area offers, along with others that were not legitimate. Well, I did sell it a month later to an individual in Portland, Oregon (I live just south of Seattle, WA). He was very honest, up front, and had no qualms about sending me a cashier's check, and paying for shipping. I of course was not that desperate to sell it, and also would never cheat anyone. It worked out well, and i did sell it for more than on line places like have been mentioned were willing to pay.
