i understand these wont be new games. i havent played games since N64 and playstation days. I don't mind older titles. can you recommend some mac rpgs that will run well on my 13" i5 mbp

download the free trail of WoW (World of Warcraft) and see how you like it. WoW is pretty much leading the way for RPG's.:)

It all really depends on what type of RPG you like, what are some of your favorites from back in the day?

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I liked KOTOR and I liked Fallout 3 on PS3.

Are there any rpgs like those for mac. I have a MBP, 2.3 GHz 13", I don't remember all the specs off the top of my head though.

I wish that the Elder Scrolls series would be playable in OSX. Bootcamping is ok but I'd love to see it native...

i dont like action rpgs. umm final fantasy, dragon question, chrono trigger, etc??

i dont know if that helps

Theres Cider and Wineskin ports (unofficially) of Oblivion floating around that run just fine... a full native port won't be coming any year soon of any of them from Bethesda.

Dragon Age would be worth a try. The retail version of Dragon Age 2 has both the PC version and the Mac port on-disc, so you can try them both out.

The first game is available in either a Cider port or a native Windows version (they come separately) - however, if you have the Mac version, you can enter your serial number in EA's backup service and download the PC version (which runs much better IMO).

This is a shame really. I love ESIV Oblivion and always wished for a Mac version. I think after my 27" ACD arrives, I need to buy Windows 7 and the PC version of Oblivion. Some of the community texture packs and other additions look amazing compared to my PS3 copy.

Another RPG to consider that may run on the new Intel hardware is Fable: Lost Chapters. Runs great on my 2010 Nvidia 320m MBP, performance should be on par or better than my Core 2 based model

Besides a few sound issues I had to work around... the hacked Cider port of Oblivion I play runs fantastic... Can't really tell that its not on Windows. I have tons of mods and things installed too... no problems... Oblivion isn't really a game that needs Windows today. Wineskin might be easier to set up for yourself than a Cider hack, but the frame rate isn't quite as high with any of the current engines. There are Cider wrappers for this floating around though, you can probably find what you need over at portingteam.com forums

Thanks for the tip, I may have to look into this. Hopefully it won't make my MBP go up in smoke. Bioshock pushes this sucker to it's limits.
