has the mac pro been out long enough to have the memory come down? If so where should i look? any issues with the heat sinks?

Apples specifies DDR2 667MHz ECC FB (fully buffered) RAM. So be sure the RAM you buy matches these specifications.

You might want to make sure your ram has heatsinks, especially if you plan to push your computer. That is unless you like the sound of fans running constantly. The link you provided is ram without heatsinks. You would have to buy the heatsinks separately and install them yourself, so the price at Newegg is really not that competitive. I'd rather spend a bit more money and buy the ram with proper heatsinks, probably from MacSales.
