I am trying to create a startup and Lock Screen for a Cydi Jailbreak, but there are specific formats for the images, does anyone know what the best way to convert regular images on a Mac.

i use a nice website (link below), it covverts pictures instantly (and free)online and then emails the end result for you to download.
You can change the amount of pixels, the contrast, file type and crop.
incidently you need 320x480 .png files for wallpapers, just in case you needed to know

What in the world is a Cydi Jailbreak? Do you mean PT or redsn0w?
Anyway, for image conversion I use Seashore. Excellent little image editor based on GIMP but with a native OS X feel. Will convert your images with many options for compression, size, formats, etc.
