Hi all,

First post on here, and I'm looking for advice/suggestions regarding an external monitor for my MacBook Pro.

The specs are as follows:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB

I don't use it for gaming, but I'd like to get a 27 inch screen to give me some more space, say around the £300 mark (UK-based).

Many thanks!

Would you be OK with a 2560x1440 native resolution, ie no HiDPI/Retina-like UI elements, or do you want text to be almost as sharp and crisp as on the MacBook?

In that case a 27" 4K (at some scaled setting) would be more appropriate. This one sits at your price point but I have no personal experience with it.

Sharp and crisp, as far as possible. I'm not sure how the age of my machine will limit the options though.

It can run a 4K monitor at 60 Hz, so you're covered.
Great, that's just what I needed to know. I'll have a look at the 4k options. Budget is important right now.

Thanks for your help, Amethyst1
