Best monitors to get?

Which company should I look at, those to avoid in new monitor.

Want 1080 size, perhaps bigger.

DVI and VGA is must have (besides HDMI).
DP is optional.

Anything I need to look at in choosing?

If I were rich and wanted a new "gaming/entertainment" monitor I might choose the Eizo FX2431.

It's full of great features, but the display was a bit short on performance (according to article).

I would assume getting DP supported monitor is better then just HDMI.
