Best .MP4 player for Training Videos? FF/RW (How manage folders/files?)?

I have folders of training videos (.mp4). File names can be long e.g. 75 characters.

1. what's the best way to copy folders of these videos to my ipad, and
2. what's the best player for these training videos? (Something that lets you jump backwards/forwards by 10 or 15 seconds?

In the past, I've tried copying them into my OneDrive but I recall it being a drag.

I seem to recall not being view all of the file name which was very confusing.

In the past, I 've tried to use onedrive offline files but that was bad because I had to comingle videos from different chapters and it was very confusing.

The best way to copy those videos is using iTunes. Sadly, I feel copying files directly via iTunes is not supported past 12.6.5.3.
For the app, nPlayer is a nice choice. It supports long file name and you can see most or even all of the name. It supports wifi file transfer. As long as your router is good, file transfer speed could be very decent, 12MB/s or so.

Thanks for the reply. If I used iTunes to copy folders of data, where are they on the ipad? (There's no C: like a pc). Do you launch itunes on the ipad and are they listed under files or something?

Files copied from iTunes are usually inside a folder with name like “iTunes files”.
As for the iTunes, if you plug your iPhone, you click the iPhone icon, choose “apps”, and find the app you have downloaded and installed, click it, you can then “add to...” your training videos to that app. Copying folders directly may not be supported though. You need to make those folders beforehand.

Also, I have 62 gigs of videos I want on the ipad. My dropbox account has only 10gig quota. My OneDrive has 1TB but I don't want to connect that to the ipad as it's got all kinds of sensitive financial info. Ideally, I'd like to just store the data on the ipad directly (connect via WiFi to transfer, or with a cable. The idea of using cloud storage as a file system seems like a giant hassle which doesn't solve me problem well.

I wish it was like an android tablet where you could just use a native file system.

Am I missing something?

This is a marketing strategy and will never come into fruition. The heavy reliance on internet kills this method for large files immediately.
You are not missing anything. As of now all we can hope is iOS 13 brings some sort of external storage support. If that is the case, things could become much easier. You still need a media player on your iPad though.

Thanks everyone, I got it settled and I really like the solution.

nPlayer works great (for FF/REW); I purchased the $4.99 version.

I installed iTunes on my pc, wiped my ipad up upgraded to ios 12.x.

Using itunes | file transfer | I dragged folders of videos to the nPlayer app and it sync'd perfectly.

This is way better than relying on OneDrive.
