Best MP4 setting for iPad

I have been messing with the settings of QT PRO Mpeg4 for videos I make. I do not use a HD camera at the moment just miniDV tapes. Just looking for the best picture to put on my ipad. I wish the pad took . Mov files to make everything easy. Any help would be great.
