Hi folks... I just bought a brandnew iPhone 16 GB over ebay and it should be delivered free for all carriers. It arrived today and was still factory sealed. So there can't be any unlock done i guess.... right?

I never did a unlock and/or jailbreak before so i would like to ask which Mac tool is "best" / "safe" in use for an iPhone noob. ZiPhone?
Where is a good and easy manual?

Hardware:
iPhone 16GB, date of purchase Feb 21st, supposed FW 1.1.3
Mac: iBook G4, 1,42 GHz, 1GB RAM, OS X 10.4.11

Sorry for asking 10.000.000th time...

Can't find a step by step (noob safe) manual / tutorial for ZiPhone. Please help!

1. How to verify FW version on emergency screen?
2. Action order (a. ZiPhone to jailbreak and unlock b. iTunes an FW update OR a. iTunes and FW Update b. ZiPhone to jailbreak and unlock)?
3. Which SIM inserted while jailbreaking... the useless at&t or the real one which i want to use after

Don't want to ruin it... 500 $ is to much for iPod only use.

Edit:
My iPhone arrived today i want to use it as fast as possible... but there is another "problem"
Is it possible to sync the iPhone with my iBook now and change the computer (for syncing) in a few weeks? Why? Because i will order a new iMac within the next 3 weeks as well (still hoping for the Penryn update).

im nt sure about ur new computer but once activated etc its just like an ipod touch when syncing etc so should be ok...

when u connect to itunes can you restore it to 1.1.4? if so do a restore to 1.1.4 then ziphone it and u will be fine its really easy :)

and you cant break ur iphone doing this u can always do a restore to fix it :) (if it does break it ain't my fault)

Just did it that way and it worded perfectly... now i'm doing the last sync between my "old" Nokia E51 and my computer (hopefully). :D

Thx!
