This question might of been asked before, but nvidia has released a lot of new drivers since summer. There are also similar topics on Laptopvideo2go but that was the 8600M GT in general and not MBPs.

In addition, Nvidia says the newer 180.XX drivers don't support the 8600M GT but they work just fine. (XP Pro SP3).

In my case the 180.43 have worked the best for a while, but i'm having a fair bit of trouble with them now. I got 4414 points with 3dmark06 (default demo).

So: Which drivers work gave you the best performance/stability? Post 3dmarks if you can.

I must be doing something wrong, because everytime I try out one of their drivers, things always go backwards. Games become far more choppy and I get a huge loss in fps (in all kinds of games). I know the BC 2.1 drivers are pretty old, but they have consistently been the fastest. In fact I just tried one of the newest drivers for Vista 64 about a week ago, and had the same results. Disappointing, because Apple's slow as hell releasing new drivers.
