I've been out of the jb scene for a while, my phone stands pretty optimal in terms of tweaks and settings, however i am going to be traveling abroad in the next coming months and I have a few questions about data usage and tethering while in another country.

1. First off, how does data coverage work while in say, Europe? Am I still under AT&T coverage over there or what?

My devices:
iPhone 5 (6.1.2) jailbroken
iPad retina WiFi model (7.0.4) jailbroken

2. Am I forced to pay for AT&T tethering or is there a workaround tweak?

3. Being that my iPad is wifi-only, what is the best route to getting it connected online while also having my iPhone with me? (My plan is to hopefully use some method to connect my ipad online while on vacation or travelling)

Thanks in advance for any answers, if you cant comment on regards to tethering while visiting other countries then help me out for using it in the states, since I plan on using it in America most of the time, haha.

You would have to pay for roaming charges and the amount of money you have to pay is not worth it

It'd be cheaper to get a prepaid plan there (but the problem might be phone compatibility)

So, tethering aside, what do Americans do as far as Internet on phones while abroad? Just stop using Internet and enjoy your vacation? Use some prepaid plan or anpther carrier that supports an at&t phone or sim card?
