I'm looking for some sub-$200 headphones that are just easy to carry around and have decent noise cancellation for occasional travel. Mostly I just want to be able to walk around or take the metro without people talking to me and my airpods don't seem to send enough of a "back off" signal :) I'm certainly considering the various Beats models, but reviews indicate that the solo pros esp clamp pretty hard and can be uncomfortable. While I love the easy switching of the W1 chip, comfort (and not getting my ears hot) is more of a priority. Any recommendations?

I have seen new Beats Studio3 on eBay for ~ $200 but they never felt right on my head and warmed up my ears quite a bit. The Beats Solo Pro are a favorite of mine, even though they aren't comfortable for my larger head due to the clamping force. But they have been down to $129-149 recently at Meh, Verizon and Walmart. Can't beat the H1 support and decent ANC/Transparency mode performance.

The well-reviewed Skullcandy Hesh ANC retail for $129 and are typically on sale for $99. The Cleer Audio Enduro ANC ($149) have been well-reviewed and offer multi-point. Anker Life Q30 ($79) are a nice set that offer multi-point, similar to the updated Life Q35 ($129). Maybe the Sony WH-CH710N or the WH-XB900N (when on sale) if multi-point is needed.

They have really good noise cancelling headphones for a very reasonable price at Monoporice. I got a set there to use as beaters, but they're better than I expected. Really good noise cancelling and balanced sound. I heard about them on an audiophile forum believe it or not.

AirPods Pro are ~$200 at Target and Walmart. On and off Woot at $190.

I've tried a ton of different headphones and the only ones I ever felt safe wearing "out and about" are APP set to transparency mode.

I'm not saying you can't get sub $200 that do transparency mode as well as AirPods. But since they are often on sale for around $200 then I definitely will recommend them despite their flaws.

The solo pros clamping force isn’t that bad I don’t have any issues. There is the new beats studio buds. I have the Jaybird vista 2 and I love those

I assume you’re not in New York but if you are I do have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 I’m willing to sell in the sub $150 range. I was about to post it on Facebook
