Best overall browser?

Just wondering if there is a consensus. I am using Dolphin right now and it is ok but not that great. I have been looking at firefox and chrome reviews but they seem kind of hit and miss. Chrome seems to have an issue with draining the S3's battery rather fast. What are your thoughts? I honestly miss Safari. Safari on the S3 would be the best thing since sliced bread.

I have Chrome on my Nex7, S3, iMac, MBP and my computer at work. It doesn't even matter if I am on someone else's computer, my bookmarks are always synced and ready for me, just log in to your Google account. Chrome works perfectly on my S3. No excess battery drain.

This was my biggest draw to Chrome, since I have fast Internet speeds, all the browsers I tried were quick. Maybe if you are on 3g, some browsers are slower than others? And Maxthon is a good backup browser if you haven't tried it.

Chrome has a setting you need to disable to fix the battery issue.

However, I think Chrome is pretty slow, UI wise.

Personally, I think the stock AOSP is the best browser. It's fast and compatible with most sites.

Opera is probably the best and most stable 3rd party browser right now.

Firefox needs a lot of work. I wouldn't recommend that at all. Maybe when it gets to Firefox 25 it will be worth using, but right now, its a mess that is only now getting better.

Dolphin is nice but you have to wait for the Dolphin Engine to get stable before it can possibly overtake Opera as the best browser.

All of the other browsers don't even have their own engine so there's no point in using them over the stock browser.

I love the default browser on my S3 for the simple fact it has a built in reader.

I like Chrome. Before that I used to use Dolphin as my main browser on Gingerbread. The default ICS browser is okay, but I really like the syncing in Chrome too.

I like Chrome too but I started using the stock browser on my GS3 running CM9 because of the quick controls which are really useful. Only bad thing is for some reason my gmail account fails to sync my bookmarks with the stock browser. In accounts/sync there's an exclamation mark and I can never get it to sync the bookmarks while everything else syncs fine.

Opera mini is pretty fast and requires very few cpu usage (±3%), while Chrome eats up 10-15% of my cpu (on a padfone, snapdragon processor).
I disabled tilt scrolling and it dropped down to 9% but that's a lot too compared to opera.
The ICS browser takes 3,8%, not bad.

I don't sync my bookmarks on my phone. Just my desktop Firefox with Dropbox. I'd check out CM10 nightly or ask Cyanogen users to see if it has been fixed.

I use an AOSP rom called Minco for my Galaxy Nexus. Fastest ROM for it I've used so far.

Opera for iOS is more like a document viewer than a browser.

I use Chrome or the stock browser on my GNex when I'm at home..

When I'm on the road, I go to Dolphin or Opera. Really depends...

If none of them are 'compatible' with certain websites for my school then I go with Firefox. This is when I'm in a pinch or away from a computer.

I prefer the stock ICS browser or you can get ICS browser + in the market (almost as good).
