I wish to try OC and Monterey my 13" Macbook Pro late 2013 which is currently running Catalina on its APFS-formatted SSD. If I like how OC works I'll install it on my 3,1 Mac Pro later.

I'd like to install OC and Monterey on a separate volume and am wondering if there's a best practices sort of way to do that?

I know Apple says one can install several OS versions within one and the same Container but is that recommended with OC? If not, should I create a second Container for OC?

Thanks in advance
Philip

OC should be on the ESP.

I would practice with an external hard drive or SSD and put both, OC and the OS on it. Too many things can go wrong with the partition sheme.

Thank you for your reply. As an example from my 11" MBA, which of all these things in DU is the "ESP"? Just to be sure I understand which is the right target.
