I’m looking to upgrade my memory for my iMac and I am looking for some advice on what the best performing brand & model of RAM is out there?

I also wanted to know can you overclock and get any actual use with a higher MHz card like the 2017 i7 is capable of doing so?

My Specs 👇🏼

iMac
Year: 2019
Size: 27"
Processor: 3.6GHz 8-Core i9
Graphics: 8GB - Radeon Pro 580X
Storage: 1TB Flash SSD
Memory: 64GB (2666 MHz)

I believe Mike is correct, in regards to your first question. There would probably need to be more details in the response if you had a 2020 iMac -- but you don't, so no issue there.

In regards to your second: Macs don't generally make allowances for overclocking. It may be technically possible via third-party software, but the thermals on an iMac simply aren't built for it; you'll probably end up overheating the computer very quickly and find yourself abruptly falling back down to lower speeds -- especially if you try to overclock what is already one of the beefiest processors that Apple has ever put in that form factor.

That said... what you have there is actually a pretty decent performer, even without overclocking. I routinely use mine (bootcamped into Windows) for gaming, though it does sometimes struggle a bit with fast reorientation in No Man's Sky and the like. Maybe your i9 will fare better than my i5, in that regard.
