Best photo-editing software?

Just got a new MBP and am looking to get into digital photography..

I was wondering what photo-editing software do you users like best?

From my understanding there are several options, such as the native iPhoto, Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, Photoshop Elements, etc.?

Opinion, please?

Why don't you tell us what you'll be doing with it? Hardcore photo editing? Resizing pictures? Shooting raw??

it all comes down to what you want to do vs how much you want to spend. I use photoshop for hardcore photo manipulation but use aperture for mostly everything else. I also use photomatrix for HDR related stuff, different strokes for different folks as well.

the best way is to try them out before you buy them. I was so gungho on Aperture 3 until Lightroom 3 came out. It fits my needs and was easy to use.

But you should download the trial version of the top 3 Aperture, Photoshop and Lightroom and see which fits your style best. Any one will work
