Hi
I have a ton of freeware on MacAppStore, last weeks there been coming mail that I must update to look like BigSur apps and ARM code.
Some apps that I posted a couple of months ago, some back in 2018.

I dont have time for that, so I wonder where the best place to put the apps ?

Apple removed the apps from sale and gave me a few weeks to fix it, after that they remove the apps completly from AppStore !
But no thanks, I had it with AppStore ...

/Alexis

Can always just host it on your own website. Advantage of the App Store is discoverability though that's less an advantage on the Mac where both Apple and users focus less on the App Store. Disadvantage is that you need to play by Apple's rules.

Though if your codebase is at a high enough level of abstraction updating to support Apple Silicon would just be a recompile. Getting the Big Sur look might even just be linking against the newer SDK too depending on what views you're working with

Hi

Yes you are right !

M1 is no problem

Since I dont earn a cent :) and reading the new "App Store Review Guideline updates" just make me tired. :)
( and then resubmitting :(

I was thinking of dumping all apps+sources on GitHub , its no fun to develop freeware to Mac's anymore, sadly !

Well I mean, you say no more. In the old days there was no App Store in the first place, so you still needed to get your apps up elsewhere

I'm not sure all that much has changed, really. Always knew the App Store would operate like this. And there's still free reign on applications from other sources.

Putting it on GitHub seems a good plan if you have no qualms about publicising your code. I greatly encourage it.

It costs me like $10 per year to run my website (not counting the tiny bit of electricity it saps) so hosting your own programs that way is also a viable option.

If you do smash it on GitHf send me a link. Would like to check it out :)
