Best place to buy a Macbook pro in the UK?

I'll be traveling to the UK [London] in the upcoming week. I want to purchase a Macbook pro 16inch there. Where's the best store with the best price? Do you think I can find the base model for less than two thousand pounds? It's 2129 on the UK Amazon right now.

Also, do you think I can find a Macbook with American Keyboard Layout there?

How can I search for the US Keyboard Layout on online stores?

I searched for "LLA" Macbooks but only B/A ones come up.

No because you can’t do a BTO from Amazon.

I strongly suggest the only way to reliably get a US keyboard if you’re buying in the UK is a BTO direct from Apple. No UK supplier is going to routinely stock models with a non UK keyboard layout, there would be no point. Not even Apple in the UK do that.

Try Jigsaw24.com. They are often quicker than Apple for some specs as they have them in stock for some of the usually order only models. The US keyboard will be a problem wherever I suspect as this will be a special from Apple in the UK.

I wouldn't 'choose' to get a mobile Mac while travelling to the UK.
Based on the currency exchange rates and historically (for ever), it is cheaper to buy in the US.

Usually the UK price is the same in £ as in $, pretty much.

My first Mac, a G4 PowerBook was bought in NY when the rate was about $1.75 > £1.......😁

Guys, I have a Short term uni course with Oxford starting from mid Nov. I would need to use Docker/Vagrant containers on it. Been looking to pull the trigger on new M1 14 inch MBP. I found costco uk to be the cheapest, its for GBP 2083.00 and they have 3 year technical support (repair or refund) + 90 days no quibble return/refund. Its the cheapest I have seen across (even as compared to Amazon). And with costco 3 yr tech support, I may have to buy Apple care, but no Apple extended warranty. Apple Approved for the same config is of 2129.

I can see the M2 pro are going into production in last quarter of 2022. Will the prices of M1 MBP come down from the current, as it has already at the likes of John Lewis and Costco. Should I wait for a bit, like October to see Apple approved ones come down in price.

The problem is, it's a big faff, if there is an issue and you are back in the US.
Maybe ask if they have a receipt from purchase.

You could answer your own question just by clicking on the link. For example, Best Buy says "International customers can shop on www.bestbuy.com and have orders shipped to any U.S. address or U.S. store".

If another supplier even ship internationally, you'll pay whatever the exchange rate is at the time.
Then you'll pay import duty, VAT and whatever handling charge the courier decides to throw at you.

This was posted on the 23rd August so I can only assume you're in London now. If you want to buy a MacBook in the UK, just go into either an Apple Store or a third party reseller, somewhere like John Lewis as posted above.

Where do you generally reside.....🤔
This may help people with your questions.
It will depend what taxes etc YOUR country adds.

Personally I can order from Amazon US to the UK (live in UK).
But find a lot of items work out the same price with taxes and shipping etc.
I generally only buy dvd's I can't get in UK format.
