I’m with AT&T after recently leaving VZ and testing T-mobile with a free hot spot. I want the 12 Max as long as it’s not too much bigger than my 8 plus. I want to go with a carrier-free version though in case I hear 5g is working better in S. Dallas for a specific carrier. I don’t want to be tied to 1 carrier.

What is the best place to get the carrier-free one - Apple, Best Buy, can you buy it outright through a carrier and tell them you don’t want the one tied to their carrier? The Apple stores around me are closed apparently (sister told me that anyways after checking last week looking for a watch).

Thanks in advance!

It's the same phone at the same price, no matter where you buy it. So it all depends on how you judge "best". Perhaps Best Buy is a closer drive to you than the Apple store, so that might be best.

Thanks for the replies!

Sorry, yes I have a Best Buy about a mile away from me. I wonder if they take online pre-orders at the same time Apple will be taking them (Nov 6 for the Max, is it)? I don’t want it shipped to my home. Packages get stolen from the porch in our area.
