iPhone SE (2016) Best place to purchase new SE locally on launch day?

I pre-ordered my sim-free SE from Apple. It will be here Friday.

However, I want another sim-free SE for my gf. Problem is, Apple site now shows May 8-15 shipping estimate. Given that Apple stores are currently closed in the US, what's the best place to get one on launch day? - Is it even possible?

Walmart, Target, Best Buy walk-in?

If you’ve not pre-ordered the second device, I very much doubt your going to get a device on launch day now.

Those places likely will only have stock of the orders they’ve taken in the current climate.

If the OP goes to their local carrier store (or WalMart, Target for point B), I would recommend calling the store to see if A) They're open and B) Ask if they have the new SE in stock. It's certainly not worth the risk going out to the store to find they're all sold out.

I ordered mine from Apple in the UK yesterday. Delivery quoted for sometime next week. I hope it's Monday because that will be my 75th birthday.
Anyone older out there with an order in?

If it could be with a specific carrier, it looks like Best Buy you can still order some models for launch day pick up. The unlocked models are no longer available for launch day pick up.
