Best podcast app that will reliably sync play status?

Hi all.

I was listening to some podcasts today at work on my phone using Downcast. When I got home and picked up the iPad an episode I had listened to during the day was showing as partially played on the iPad. When I next opened Downcast on my phone, this episode had re-appeared as partially played and the app started to download the episode again!

I have exactly the same problem when using Pocketcasts.

Does anyone know of an app that will reliably and consistently sync play status? I'm sooooo fed up of having such a poor podcast experience, it's been like this for years.

Overcast seems to synchronize flawlessly. I really like the app as well.

Another vote for Overcast. I've never had a syncing issue with them.

I have experienced the same issue with Pocketcasts between my iPhone and iPad.
