I'm going to be on the road for a while, leaving me without my large monitor setup like I'm used to. I'd like to still have some expanded screen real estate, and thinking about doing so via either (1) Sidecar through my iPad, or (2) an ~$180 USD portable external monitor (connecting it to my 16" MBP via a single USB-C cable). Note: I don't care for the ability to expand my screen wirelessly, and prefer a wired connection for maximum stability.
Which solution is better in terms of cost, convenience, display quality, 'it just works', and other factors? If recommending a portable external display, is there a particular brand/model that the MacRumors community prefers?
