Does anyone know what printer would be compatible with my MacBook Pro 2013? I'm using BigSur 11.6.4 and only require a low usage ink jet printer, nothing fancy.

I've been using an HP Photosmart C4580 that worked like a champ but suddenly it stopped connecting with my computer after I used another printer at a different location. I uninstalled it and attempted to reinstall but apparently there's no more printer driver for that printer and BigSur 11.6.4.

I just want to purchase a new printer that will be compatible with my MacBook Pro 2013, BigSur 11.6.4, low end home use. Can anyone please recommend one?

Brother and Epson printers seem to work well with Macs. Do you want color or just black & white? For black & white it's hard to beat a cheap Brother laser printer. I have an HL-L2360D. It's super basic, but it's perfectly fine for light office duty. It also works well with cheap 3rd party toner. We have a couple Dell laser printers that work well with the Macs too. They are rebranded Brothers as far as I can tell.

If were to buy a color home/office printer I think I would select an Epson EcoTank. Ink prices for those should be pretty cheap. They also have black & white EcoTank printers. They are probably a great alternative to the laser printers.

I have an Epson ecoTank - its brilliant.
Have had it several months and can easily see the ink lasting over a year. The ink bottles have a shaped release valve, so it's impossible to fill the wrong tank with the wrong color - the valve only matches with the corresponding color - simply pop it on and give it a minute for the tank to fill itself. It can't possible be any easier.

When filling and removing the bottle I haven't had a single drop go astray. Completely neat and tidy - no issues at all. I'd never go back to expensive and wasteful cartridges again.

Thank you so much for replying to my printer questions. Yes, color is preferred. I'm looking for a small-ish ink jet printer for low-home usage with miltiple devices: macbook pro, iphone, ipad. I'll take a look at the Epson ecoTank, thanks. I can't seem to find updated HP driver software that works with BigSur; HP website just says "We were unable to find drivers for your product" for "HP Photosmart C4400 All-in-One Printer series" and was thinking I'd just abandon the idea of getting an HP and go with Epson for a low end ink jet.
