It feels like I've been through them all without finding the one to go with. So which app do you use to recipes/cooking and why? I value a beautiful interface quite a bit. Preferably compatible with both iPhone and iPad.

I just toss recipes to an Evernote notebook (titled "Recipes," oddly enough). Between the Evernote clipper and email interfaces, it's easy and I don't have to futz with formatted data entry.

I read on Paprika's description that they use some sort of intelligent language scanning to import recipes from any website.

How well does this work in reality?

It works surprisingly well. My wife uses this feature often, and it is very rare for a recipe from a site not to import correctly.

It works well, but requires an extension that is only available for Safari… but t I have used it several times with great results.

Based on the recommendations, I've installed Paprika on my Mac and iPhone. So far, very impressed. I had used MacGourmet for a bit years ago, but recipe entry was tedious. This one I'm just using copy-'n'-paste from my Evernote recipes, and it's working beautifully and syncing without a hiccup.
