Hi all, so I'm trying to find the best way to share videos and photos with family members. Originally I thought getting the 2TB iCloud Drive and using Shared Albums would be it. But I just found out that Shared Albums downsizes:

Shared Albums also support special formats that you capture with your iPhone, like slo-mo, time-lapse, Live Photos, and Memory videos. When shared, photos are reduced to 2048 pixels on the long edge, except panoramic photos, which can be up to 5400 pixels wide. You can share GIFs that are 100MB or smaller.

And at least for me, it seems all videos I shoot in 4k 60fps, when sent through iMessage gets degraded to 720p. And I don't even know what it does to photos. This is a concern for me because I've gotten family the latest phones with the best cameras and enough space to keep and share memories at full quality and it's seems for me that iMessage - and now Shared Albums - is not the way.

Is Google Photos the answer then? I mean it'll be the answer for the Shared Albums aspect but not for the immediate iMessage part.

But again I ask, what's the best online photo album service that retains the original quality when sharing items?

I use google drive. Stores in original format and size. Albums are shareable, but images need to be downloaded to be viewed at full size.
