“Viruses?” None.I dont trust the Google searches, so i want to hear it from you guys.
Which one is the best and cheapest virus scan, and where is the safest download source?
Generally when people ask about virus scanning they don't just mean viruses. Antivirus has become a generic term for all malware such as trojans. No need for a virus scan program on a Mac, as there are no Mac viruses in the wild.

Thanks, both of them equally good?I use Avast AV and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
No. Avast has quite a few other features that many will find unnecessary. Just stick with MB.Exactly!
I was mostly interested in spyware cleaners

Don't convolute and confuse with oversimplification. It's not helpful.Unless you frequent naughty sites or the Dark Web, you don't need an AV

Reputable sites' ad pools can also be compromised. It's even happened with MacRumors. My wife was browsing Pinterest the other day and clicked on a link to a garden bed project. There was a redirect and she was informed that our family iMac had multiple viruses and security threats and she was shown a perfectly legitimate looking page to click on or call to get our Mac back on track.
She wasn't frequenting naughty sites or the dark web.
Yeah, something like that. Volume muted, but was running uBlock Origin, funny enough. Is that the one that looks like an Apple support site, but has the monotone voice that informs you that your computer is infected and to call the provided number immediately? It gets past MWB and uBlock Origin as well.
