Just curious as I understand FCP X deals a lot with this type of data.

Given that Apple PCIE-E SSDs are still pricey, I considered of going for the new Samsung EVO 850 but reviews from Anandtech and The SSD Review say it is only OK for compressed data?

Anandtech: Review

SSDReview: Review

It seems the 840 Pro is still better in this area.

Any thoughts?

As far as I can see, (at least in the Anand review) the 850 Evo performs as well or better than most other SSDs, except the higher-end 850 Pro. And the only drives to suffer on incompressible data are the aging SandForce drives (which no one would be buying these days anyway).

If you avoid Sandforce, you're fine, and any of the Samsung 8xx series or the Crucial MX100 will be so fast the difference will be difficult to notice... So just buy the cheapest one or your brand preference (I personally avoid Samsung if I can out of principle).
