So, I'm about to get a DS lite and I was just thinking about getting an extended warranty thing for it from the store, probably Best Buy or something.

But I was wondering what would be the best place to go to get a really good extended warranty? Is CompUSA any good, 'cause I know they are with Laptops. What about Fry's or any other place? Any opinions?

Best Buy, for example, offers two years for twenty bucks, but their dead pixel policy is like twelve, I was told. On one screen. Anybody do better than that?

All in all, the point of this thread is to discuss which major retailer offers the best warranties, for a DS lite or anything in general.

Thanks a lot.

Best Buy is probably your best bet as it's a REPLACEMENT plan. This basically means that you can call within two years, say your battery is low or something, send it in, and they will give you store credit equal to what you paid initially for the DS to buy anything in the store. This is what I did.

I'm usually not a big fan, but I do have to say I once bought a set of wall-mounting speakers from Best Buy, that were open box returns, and so I got their extended warranty on them. They were pretty good about it -- one of them fell off the wall  while I was sleeping and they fixed it without comment.

I work at a Sears - we offer a 'replacement agreement' which, unlike service plans, simply replaces the product (no questions asked).

The agreement is like 16-20 bucks on the DS Lite; basically, if anything goes wrong (cosmetically, with the battery, screen, or otherwise), you can bring it into any Sears store and they'll give you a brand new one, no questions asked. You don't need the original receipt, either - they store your information via telephone number. No need to worry about repairs or anything; they just replace it.
