I've never had a HDR TV or OLED iPhone, and my current iPad is the 1st gen 12.9" iPad Pro. I preordered the M1 IPP 12.9 which will come May 21, and was wondering if there is a good streaming service / movie that will really show the benefits of HDR and spatial audio? Right now Im subscribed to Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime.

Thanks!

Apple TV+ for somewhat obvious reasons.

there
is Spatial Audio an  thing like retina?
nope, this a gaming and movie experience for both platforms
anyways
the  tv is great and the sound experience running through a Bose Soundtouch
or anything similar is enough for a crystal clear sound.
the speakers are the key as in 1980.

I love spatial audio but it is just not supported enough (at least here in the UK). Apple TV on the IPP has 15 films, just pitiful.

The services I use are Netflix, Amazon Prime and Sky - none of them support SA. When I start traveling again (for work) I might sub to Disney+ purely to have some SA content!!

I plan on watching Alien and The Martian to test out the new display - can’t wait to see the blacks in Alien, both are Dolby Vision and Atmos from iTunes

The Martian looks amazing in HDR - the Martian sand looks like a completely different color

My favorite HDR movie demo is the first Avengers movie at around 45 minutes in, the battle between Thor and Iron Man in a forest at night. HDR lets you see all the details in the dark forest, and at the same time see VERY bright sparks, lightning, and Iron Man's glowy bits in the battle. If the display has a bright enough peak brightness the lightning can even hurt your eyes.

I just tested it on my iPhone 12 Pro in the Disney+ App, and the HDR worked fine, so it should work even better on the new iPad Pro.

In addition to Apple TV+, Disney+ and HBO Max offer 4k, Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio support.
Disyney + only gives me the HD option for movies (which are also available in 4k, like Avengers)... perhaps an Disney+ App bug?

Simplest must be Apple TV/itunes, but if you really want to watch some specific movie, your best bet would be to get a Blu-ray disc (or whatever legal/illegal way online), rip it to your computer and stream it using plex.

Plex has full support for 4K HDR and spatial audio
