I'm coming up on 3 weeks with my iPhone 8 plus, and it's impressing me every day. I went thru a lot of phones recently:

OnePlus 3
Galaxy s7
Galaxy s7e exynos
Moto z play
Galaxy note 5
Moto z play
Galaxy s8
Galaxy s8+

After all that, I decided it was time to try an iPhone. There's no question the iPhone 8 plus is lacking compares to a lot of Android phones, but what it does have is incredible. I got an Apple watch series 3 with it, and I can't ever go back to Android wear.

My wife has an X, and while I love it, it's too small. I know it will be buying an X+ next fall. I'm curious about when the best time to sell an iPhone is. With Android, you will lose your ass if you sell an s7 once the s8 has dropped. Not only that, but most Android phones are available at $300 off within a month or 2 of launch thanks to sales.

I know I'm going to upgrade, so would it benefit me to sell it a month or so before the new X+ drops, or can I wait til I have my X+ in hand to make sure I like it? I'd assume the people who are looking to buy a used 8 plus in 2018 are not cross shopping new X, but I've been wrong before.

I'm really surprised how happy I am with Apple, considering how many things I have given up from Android.

With iPhones, they really do hold value much longer over android phones. In Terms of when to sell your iPhone, usually I would recommend approximately a month prior to the fall keynote, which is usually held in September. Once Apple announces the new iPhones, then the market is completely saturated with used iPhones with everybody else anticipating of upgrading to the latest device.

Thanks, that was my thought.
