Best todo app that syncs w/desktop??

Anybody have one that works? There have been a few threads about this, but didn't see much consensus, or even one that does the job really?

Just want basic to do list, with ability to get some info in each todo (names, addresses, relevant info etc) Anybody found one yet?

i find 'things' to be really good
sync is not there yet, but is coming in the next version and is currently in beta testing

Just bought To Do from Appigo. It's good...wish I could sort an individual category (ie, Home) by Priority Level.

Will buy a better app if one comes along....

I've been using OmniFocus on my mac in the past and it was perfect when it came out for iPhone.

It takes some getting used to if you've never used it, but personally I love it and it was worth every cent. It can sync over mobileme

Things is the way to go. Update for sync and many other improvements are already into Apple for review. Visit their website for a full list of features and watch the demo of the desktop version (Mac)

I have OmniFocus -- desktop and iPhone/Touch apps.

Works well. Like it so far.

Another one that I was considering, but needed something now so went with OmniFocus.

Things does look interesting.

I like Things so far, except:

The whole point of this for me is to have any easy way to see what things I need to do. This kind of gets in the way of that. Maybe Things isn't for me. Too bad, it seems well designed for the most part...

If you don't assign due dates to them they will remain in scheduled until you do. Until then, if you wan't to view everything...go to scheduled and you will see them arranged according to Project assigned (assuming you set up projects). Once due dates are assigned they go to "Today" as you have noted. There are options you can set for each task to tell it when you want it sent to "today"...ie. same day, 1 day before, 2, 3, etc....The purpose of that is so you don't have 100 things to scroll through in order to determine which one to tackle first (hence assigning due dates). this keeps everything to a manageable number (Today).

If I have a ton of things show up in "Today" I move the ones I want to tackle immediately to the "inbox" (that's just how I use it right now, may not be the right way).

The update that allows syncing has already been submitted...which means it should be out by next week or so. Syncing is just one of the updates...there are a few more (visit the website to find out)

Zenbe Lists, is great, its free and you can create an account online to update lists, and it will sync with the app on your phone, you can also share lists with family, employees etc.

If you use Appigo's ToDo with Toodledo then you can get your tasks into iCal with their live iCal link, but that isn't a sync it just pushes the tasks into iCal.

I tried these as well. Both were okay, but did not fit my requirements nor my style.

I decided that OmniFocus would work better for me.

I think that the key is to find what works best for your lifestyle as each of us view and do things a bit differently.

For me, some non-negotiable requirements:
- Desktop App (Not web related or requires the web to work.)
- iPhone App (Not web related or requires the web to work.)
- Syncing between both (Preferably via the Cloud.)
- Easy to make backups of your data.

I had other less important criteria that I used as well.

As long as whatever you choose meets your objectives then it should be a good solution for you. So try them out before hand. If you get the right one for you, the time saved and tasks not missed will easily make up for the price -- even if you purchase more than one to try them out. After all, time is money. :)

I like Things because it allows for some chaos within the order - other ToDos were too fussy for me; I don't like to prioritize and even due dates are too restrictive. So if I dump everything in "Inbox" it's listed, and I know where to find it...
