I'm coming up to the point where I can get an upgrade from O2 (as are many people). Normally, when upgrading my phone I would just threaten to leave.....speak to their customer service and they would cut me some sort of deal.

I fear with the iphone, that I may be fighting a losing battle, as it appears I'm stuck with either Orange or O2, which have virtually identical packages.

I've been with O2 for 17 months (as will a lot of people who adopted the iPhone 3G at launch), therefore am hoping I can get some sort of deal for staying with them.

I'm after the iPhone 3G 32Gb, and was wondering what sort of deals (if any) anybody has gotten from O2. Has anybody managed to squeeze a good deal out of their customer service team??

Hopefully, they'll be lots of responses, which will give me the confidence to use my usual plan of squeezing them for everything they can give me :D

Sorry mate, but looking at Orange's new iPhone tariffs, I don't think you'll be able to get much out of them. When my contracts up, I'll unlock from O2 but stick with their Pay and Go iPhone SIM for the free Internet and wait out 4 months on Pay and Go until a new iPhone is announced. That's the best option for me anyway, not sure about yourself. :)

Assuming you are on a 18 month contract, you will be out of contract with O2, and will be able to unlock from them. You can then buy a deal from whomever.

I have a Sim only with VF at £15 per month plus a £7.50 datapack, and I struggle to use all the minutes, texts and data downloads. Once my phone is unlocked from O2 later this month, i might change the card as VF are now doing a package at the same price, with slightly fewer minutes, but with overseas calls at 5p

As far as I'm aware, there is currently no way to have your iPhone unlocked by O2; it is not a service they offer.

However, with two more networks entering the fray, I imagine it *might* be something that Apple will offer although I'd imagine it would happen through iTunes and even then will only allow you to either Orange or Vodafone.

EDIT - ignore the above, I just saw that other thread.
