Just bought a 2010 iPad 64GB AT&T version online for super cheap and am excited to get it. I used to own it and bought it for nostalgic reasons, not for productivity of any kind, for that I have the latest iPhone and M1 Mac Mini.

Nevertheless I’m wondering what small utility I can use this old iPad for. I was thinking really for only three things:

1. Typing notes in pages
2. Watch videos I’ve preloaded from iTunes
3. Reading iBooks I’ve preloaded from iTunes

Aside from that I can guess everything else will be super slow. No real point in me trying to connect to the internet unless I wanted to send what notes I type out to myself

I still have my 2010 iPad. It serves as a digital picture tube for a vintage tv... I gutted the internals and inserted the ipad.

I would play the old Angry Birds games I actually bought and can't play anymore.

See, this is a great idea and the reason am glad I asked this thread.

That is really nice. If it was executed well it wouldn’t have worked but am glad others notice just how nice this looks.

Yeah, I keep mine for old games / apps I purchased but Apple will no longer let you download / play. I had to side load them using a very old version of iTunes -- thankfully I had downloaded them to my mac in the past.

Yeah wow I used to save all my iOS apps on my old Mac back in the day too. I've since sold my old Macs but in this kind of situation seems it would have helped. Im now wondering what sort of issues I may come across once I do set up this iPad 1 once it arrives.

I also still have my 2nd gen iPad... I use it for a dedicated arcade machine....

There is no resale value on these. The enjoyment I get from them in their dedicated uses far outweighs the money I would get for them... or the usage value that others would if I simply gave it to them.

I remember the arcade one being advertised everywhere. I never bit the bullet. I recall it selling for around $100 at first but a Black Friday deal had it at $50

These are the kind of unique uses I’m seeking. I’m considering making mine just a dedicated note taker. I bought the original Apple keyboard dock so am looking forward to that

Thanks. Good choice on getting the keyboard dock. I bought it when I bought the iPad 1. I really enjoyed document creation/editing in portrait mode. I jailbroke it so that I could use a mouse. It was a "proper" mouse too, just like in Windows, OSX, and Android.
