I usually open most links in the background. With the new iOS 11 drag & drop feature now it takes longer for the contextual menu to open. There is the new option of drap & drop the link to a new tab directly but i think previous way was even quicker, which one you think is the quickest way to open links in the background?

I noticed this as well, I usually did open in new tab, but I think throwing it into the new tab icon is the fastest way now.

I find the quickest one is still long press and, before the contextual menu pops up, remove your finger and there you’ll get the menu. It’s more uncomfortable than before but probably the quickest way on iOS 11 but it’s a pity to have such feature going backwards...

I often open tabs in background and reported during the beta that the delay was too long in my opinion.
The delay is even longer when Safari is in mobile view when multitasking (slide over/split screen). Long pressing on an attachment in mail is also really bad.

Long press and release:

I have got into the habit of the long press, wait for link to expand (for drag and drop) and then release finger to avoid further delay, as mentioned in post above.

Two finger tap gesture:

There is also another cool trick I learnt but some find it a bit tricky - tap a link with two fingers instead of one and it will open the tab in the background instead.

The double finger tap works, but I find it pretty difficult to perform... maybe with some practice becomes more friendly
