Ok so new phone new back up plan. I'm almost at my free limit on google photos so new back up method needed. I'm trying icloud back up once again. It is slowly loading the pictures up to my icloud. I have crappy internet but its 2300 pictures and 145 videos. I've managed to get some backed up. But if I manually uploaded the pictures to icloud would it mess up the syncing that is taking forever? Just trying to figure out why this icloud photos hates me so much.

Do you mean from an internet browser? Don't do that. Just be patient and let it sync. It will take some time until everything is caught up, especially if you have a not-so-stellar connection. You will end up duplicating if you try to "help" it.

Once you are caught up, it uploads new photos very quickly (almost instantly for me, as I have it set to use cell data for uploads).

Good luck!

Okay thanks. I used to use photobucket until it turned to crap and I’d rather have it secured somewhere that won’t be horrible.

It actually works quite nicely, provided you are willing to pay the fee for iCloud storage. Integrates nicely between devices and big space saver if you choose "optimize photos" setting.

I recommend highly. However, I would also use a secondary method of backup. Best would be physical, but you may also try the free version of Google Photos (slightly degraded quality) if you don't mind Cyberdyne Systems, ummm I mean Google, knowing all the metadata from your pics.
