Hi there!

I’m going to be going on a trip next week and taking a lot of pictures while traveling. I’m current on iOS 11 Beta 2 as a dev, and while it works pretty good.. my camera is quite laggy.

I want to backup my phone just as it is with iOS 11 on it, wipe it and have basically just my contacts, accounts, and I’ll install my apps manually for the ones I want... but that’s it.

What’s the best way to back it up so that come next weekend I can upgrade back to my iOS 11 beta and a full restore of this back will be fine?

I’ll be offloading my photos to Photos or a Finder folder throughout the week.

Solution?

Pretty sure that if you create an iTunes backup you should be able to restore to that once you return and reupgrade. One possible hiccup will be if we see a new beta before then. So you probably want the iOS 11 DB 2 ipsw file so you can upgrade back to this beta. Otherwise, I think you might have some issues.

backups are fine with newer versions. its just going backwards that doesn't work.
