Just curious how I should clean the matte screen. Will water and a wet cloth harm it?

I use a glasses cleaning cloth and some water to clean my matte screen. No problems so far. Cheers!

microfiber and water dont get along too good to apply it, since it doesnt asorb, but rather push the water arround.

best way to do it..

1) dampen a regular cotton towel and clean the screen
2) use a dry microfiber to lightly buff off any water streaks

3) ... oh wait there is no step 3

I use the cloth that came with my HD LCD TV. I just put the cloth under the tap and rub off the excess water and gently rub my screen down, i basically just follow the instructions for cleaning my TV and ive had no problems.

The alcohol is necessary if there are any secretions, such as oil from your fingertips. Otherwise water and a soft cloth is fine. If you really wanted to baby your screen, its good to remove the loose dust on top first with a separate cloth, so theres less chance you'll put scratches on the screen.

I did want to mention that I know people who just wipe the screens with whatever they have handy (paper towels, windex, cinch) and their screens have held up surprisingly well, so I am beginning to think the coating on the LCDs are pretty durable.

I just use the microfiber cloth. If things go bad I usually wipe it with those anti-static glasses wipes once a week so dust doesn't accumulate.
