I was considering getting a ipod speaker dock, but after some research they appear to be a rip-off for the sound quality.

So what is the best way to connect an ipod nano to a stereo system? I see on Apple store that they have many different docks (apple and others) and several different kind of cable kits. Which is best value & sound quality? :apple:

I have a Pioneer VSX-1018 that has the Ipod (USB) connection on the front of the receiver. I plan on getting a dock to use on top of the cabinet basically so I don't have to keep opening the cabinet.

Basically my question is which would be better to connect the dock.

1. Through the Ipod (USB) connection on the front of the receiver?
2. A connection from the dock to back of the receiver through the jacks and which ones if I may ask?

If you want decent speakers that have the simple dock to just drop in, you have to pay the price dude.

Not sure if your reply was directed at me. Just asking the best way to connect a dock to get the best sound. My pioneer has the iPod input through a USB connection and was wondering if I would lose sound quality through USB . Plus I like to EQ my music.

thanks
