Other Best way to copy and move photos from iPhone to iPad

If I ultimately want to delete from phone, what’s the best way to move my photos from there to my iPP?

I do not share the library, nor do I use iCloud for photos. I just need to move them in order to sort them into albums for making photo books. Once I’ve made the books, I’m deleting the photos.

Why not? The only other way could be text message. I would honestly just put them on Google photos then you can just open google photos and have them right there. Or Amazon photos.. but not sure how good they are as I've been using Google Photos for a few years now.

Yes, it will work fine. The main pain you'll face is the time taken to select the photos you wish to transfer.

Are these photos not backed up to a Mac or pc. I am in the same situation and want to stop using iCloud or google photos.

Good point.. I just figured out how to get pics from my iphone 6 to my laptop because i can only see 35 of the 7,300 photos when the phone is connected. My issue was keeping location info on them since it was a road trip from NY to Florida. I downloaded them all in one fell swoop from icloud (2.5gb) and all location info was retained.
