I always stream music, though I need to get some music on my Note4 for a trip that will not have WiFi on the plane. How can I take a bunch of folders of music and get them on my Note4? Which music player works well?

Thank you.

You can use Google play music to play music downloaded directly to the Note 4 or Samsung's own Music player.

If normally using a stream service you could download the music through the likes of Spotify and Google Music for offline play directly. What app do you use for streaming?

Otherwise if your connecting to a mac to sync local music - you can use the app iSyncr to sync between iTunes and your Note 4.

This^, this^, and this^. ;)

Google Play Music is my go to streaming service and music manager. Having my music library automatically upload to Google's cloud is terrific and as MRU explain, it's accessible via streaming or can be downloaded for offline use if needed.

I have used the free version of Google Play Music to upload my songs, though I thought I had to have internet to be able to stream it on my Note4. Are you guys saying I can download the songs that I uploaded to Google from Google to my Note4 for offline play and play them back without internet?

Thanks.

Yes, that is what they are saying. That's how I play music from my playlist on my Nexus 6.

I see lots of songs under the "Songs" section.

1. How do I know if these are in the cloud or already downloaded to the phone?
2. By selecting to delete a song, am I deleting it from the phone or the cloud? I guess this also depends on if the song is indeed downloaded to my phone.

Thank you.

To download a song/album touch the download icon.

To manage what's downloaded tap the menu icon then tap downloaded and that will list all local copies. It's from there you can remove from device.

When you have downloaded through your phone you should get a tick in the album info. Or just swipe in from the left and hit 'downloaded only' which will then show you only the stuff you have downloaded onto your handset.

Generally your deleting it from device, not the cloud unless it pops up a window to ask you if you want it to remove it from the cloud. If not, its just device.

Is there something similar to this for playing videos? I want to copy a bunch of videos to a sd card, what is the best player for this? Does google have something like google music for video for uploading and playing back videos offline?

No they don't offer same facility for video, you can put videos onto the SD-Card or Internal storage just by dragging them onto the device via Android File Transfer and put them in a Videos Folder. The built in video player will play them back or you can download VLC app from Playstore if your movies are in different formats.

I am planning to just put videos on the card straight from the computer using an adapter into my sd slot. I need to format the card first to go into the phone so it will not have any directories on it when I put the videos on it. Is there a directory I should make with a particular name?

Vlc or mx player will sort you out.. Just drag and drop all your music into the sd card , the player will sort it out..
