Hey there,
I've got an 27" iMac with SSD and internal HDD. Over the next 6-12 mo, I will only be using the SSD, which has everything I need on it, and during that time, I'd really like to be able to completely power down the internal HDD (to reduce any risk of wear).
I can unmount the drive using disk utility. Would the next step be ejecting? I'm not sure how best to proceed, but I'd really just like to power down the drive to prevent it from spinning or using any power.
Any advice would be really helpful.
Thanks!
Brian
