Hi, I have a 70gb bootcamp partition (NTFS) that I would like to make a 50gb partition, but also make another NTFS partition that is 20gb.
What is the best way to do this?

The 50gb will be windows, but the 20gb will just be for data so it doesnt need an OS stored on it.

Thanks.

Would I be able to use some thing like partiition magic to changet he NTFS partition the way I want it?
I have used it on PCs many times before.. But wondering if it will make the bootcamp unbootable or some thing?

It wont work, unless I want to remove the bootcamp partition completely... Which is what I want to avoid.

On regular PCs I could use partition magic, but dont know how that will interfere with the bootloader/bootcamp on a mac.

there might be a clever way but the dumb-and-works way is...

make a Winclone image of your bootcamp partition

use bootcamp assistant/disk utility to make your new partitions

Winclone restore your original image to your new bootcamp partition

Winclone does not seem to have a resize feature. You have to shrink the partition, make an image, then make anew bootcamp partition and restore your shrunk image. Long process but it works.

Anyways, now that my partitions are reszed, is there any way to make a 3rd partition that its fat32? Diskutility will only allow a HFS+... and I tried partition magic while in windows, but it does not detect the partition correctly.. Guess it doesnt work that well on a bootcamp install :(

so you want 3 partitions one HFS+ for OSX one NTFS for your Windows OS and a fat32?

use disk utility. repartition your hfs+ partition into 2. format one of them.....the one without OSX on it obviously ;).....as fat32 again from disk utility

im not on osx right now but im 90% this works.....and 80% sure disk utility can repartition nondestructive (u will wana just check that part....)

as some general advice....do your disk management stuff from osx when you can and not from bootcamp windows.....safer

+1. Without something like MacDrive, Windows completely denies the existence of any HFS+ formatted partitions, so without being careful you might just have an unpleasant surprise when you go to boot back into OSX :D.

and ya, just use Disk Utility, it should do Fat32 without a problem. If it will not, there is some other issue you will have to deal with first...
