For my family, all of our photos are stored in my library, consider it the Master Family library of all our family photos. I have created various shared albums so that all my family members can view relevant pictures over time.

However, sometimes we'll be at an event where my wife takes a slew of pictures. Until now, we've been using a shared album I created called "Inbox Pictures" which I can then move into the master library. The issue is the degradation in the quality since any pictures added to a shared album do not retain the full resolution.

Aside from Air drop, is there a convenient and effective way for my wife to share those pictures with me without degrading the quality?

Thanks

What format are the pictures in? Why not just import the pictures at full resolution.

These are pictures on my wife’s iPhone. I want to find the easiest way for her to send me those photos without degradation which is what occurs via shared albums.

I also have no interest in having to plug her phone in and importing them manually that way. There must be an easier way. Perhaps iMessage or is airdrop the best alternative?

Hard wired is always the best way. Unless you send them to the cloud at full resolution.

AirDrop is faster and the best option since it’s coming from your wife’s phone. I’d have suggested iMessage had it been someone else who might not be living with you.

Ps. I don’t think iCloud shared album reduces picture quality.

I would say pay for a photo service, Flickr will allow full images without degradation. Something that you can upload without losing quality.

AirDrop. It’s quicker and easier than what you and your wife are now doing.

I think iMessage downgrades the resolution or quality, and it can be time-consuming to save images from there. AirDrop is probably your best bet.

Just as a tip (because I don't think it's obvious), it's easy to select multiple images without needing to tap over and over again. If you tap and slide across then all of the images in that row will be selected. If you then slide down, all of the images in the rows below are selected. And if you keep your finger held near the bottom of the screen, it will automatically start scrolling downward, selecting all of the images in the rows that you are scrolling through.

iMessage doesn’t degrade picture quality but as you mentioned, it can be time consuming.
