I have some document scans of 11x17 documents that were scanned in two (2) 8x11 sheets.

I need to stitch these together. I don't do this a lot and these are only grey scale images so image quality isn't a huge deal. Is there anything free and easy out there to combine two scanned documents into one?

I have access to pixmator, but never got a chance to figure out how to use it yet. I really just have about 20 mages I need to turn back into 10.

Thanks for the reply, I don't have photo shop and don't see a subscription for it in my future. Not to mention the learning curve.

Pixelmator can do layers in the same way as photoshop - might as well use this project as impetus to learn to use it! The principle is relatively simple:

1. make a new blank document with a canvas size that you require (11x17) (file->new then input canvas size)

2. import the individual scans onto separate layers and (layer->new layer->from picture) for each scan

3. adjust the position of each scan layer until they are matched to your satisfaction

3. do any image enhancements (contrast, blemish removal etc) and then flatten the image (layers->merge) for export or print
