Best way to stream movies and sites.

Two of my hurdles are DVDs and Flash videos.

I was hoping there would be something like the MacBook Air's drive optical sharing where I can pop a DVD into my iMac's drive and stream ti to the iPad.

Is there a method, like VNC, that would allow me to control another OSX computer and therefore watch Hulu and Adult Swim on the iPad?
