Best way to sync music and playlists between itunes and nexus 5

So I just got the new nexus after a year on windows phone. I thought that the syncing process on that was difficult but now, it's impossible. I wanted to sync playlists, and from my research Google play music doesn't sync music. I used doubletwist but new devices can't use it without paying £5 for. If there are no alternatives I will just have to pay but for now, I would like some suggestions as to how to sync my media. Please note I would prefer USB syncing but I don't mind wireless. I have used winamp, but that crashes all the time.
 
Google Play Music will put all your Itunes music online from where you can access it and download it from any android device.
 
Doubletwist syncs it up quite nicely, including playlists. The only issue I have ever run into with DT, is that it won't import older DRM music from iTunes.

I second that! iSyncr has been great for my S4. It will sync all the playlists and the order you have them in itunes. Works great!
 
I use Play Music as well and for all intents and purposes, my Nexus 5 is just like any of my Apple devices. I purchase all my music through iTunes anyhow - any time I download something on my iPhone, iPad or MBA, it is automatically downloaded to my home iMac, synced with Play Music Manager and appears on my Nexus 5.

Pretty slick setup if you ask me.
 
I use Google Play Music, but it is awful at syncing playlists. On the initial sync, it will do it. But if after that you create and edit playlists, it won't sync any of them properly.
 
I use Easy Phone Sync. You have to download it on your computer and phone.

Not gonna get any arguments from m. I too own isyncr as it is what I used to sync my library when I came over to android and I found it pretty seamless. Only reason I used Google music manager was to have access to my playlist from the browser.
 
I actually started using Google play music. It seems to be a good service, but its weird because when I sync playlists, instead of auto updating the playlist it deletes the whole thing and starts downloading it again. Has anyone else had the same thing? It's not a problem as such, but it seems rather unnecessary.
 
Get the paid version of iSyncr - it's awesome!

I've been umming and ahhing about trying out Google Play Music. But as a DJ, my music collection is gigantic and it seems a bit pointless for someone like me.

Yeah, the 20,000 limit is huge for me but for a DJ it's probably not the best. Also, I've noticed a decrease in quality when streaming from the online player. It seems like an EQ problem, but thats not much of an issue

Style Jukebox Cloud Player?

Runs on most platforms, including Android and Windows.
It's like Dropbox for music and it's free up to 1,000 songs.
