Expecting my new iPad Pro 12.9 in several weeks.
What would be the best way to test the screen, without buying professional equipemte?

Select a white background as wallpaper or open the Note app to see if the contrast is good without a color cast? And afterwards opening a black background to check light bleeding?

Or would you recommend anything else? :)

Zero black for light bleed and 100% white if you want to check for tinting. If you’re happy after those two tests then I think you’re good to go.

I just went to my local Best Buy and set the older 2017 iPadPro next to a new 2018 iPadPro.
Your eyes should help you decide if the new screen is better or not.
